Appreciation

Rita & Jen - Pink Ink
Wow!  A small word with huge impact.  Wow!  The London community really came out and showed their support on November 16th for an unknown group of four women who had a vision, set a goal and executed.  Wow!  Thank you.  Now, there is a funny thing about goals.  Once you accomplish them, you be happy with what you accomplished, learn from it and set a bigger goal.  So, let's analyze this for a bit - indulge me - lol.  Because Pink Ink was just part of a big production we're going to use the Youth on Fire event as our reference.  This event was a variety show concert featuring a number of youth all coming together to raise money for the London Anti-bullying Coalition.  So here we go.
Essentially, after accomplishing a goal we have three choices - 1.  be happy with what you accomplished and relax, 2.  do nothing; 3. Be happy with what you accomplished, learn from it and set a bigger goal.
Kamini - Silent Poetry
1.  Be happy with what you accomplished and relax:  This is an ok option. We were able to generate community involvement.  We were able to provide a medium by which more awareness has come and will continue to come to the London Anti-bullying Coalition.  We were able to raise some funds for the LABC.  We had 200 people at our first event!!!!!!!   For the city of London these accomplishments are HUGE.  So, can we relax and just be happy?  We could and we could forever reflect on how in 2013 Pink Ink was part of an event that helped to change lives. Woohoo!  If you know us, then you know this is not the option we are choosing.

2.  Do nothing.  Really?  If we are truly in business, WE ALWAYS have to reflect on what we have done.
Yvette - Flying Unlimited
Whether it is a trade show, a networking event, a production, or even just a one on one with a client - we ALWAYS -  have to reflect.  It is of uttermost importance to ensure that your activities are generating or leading to generate profits, awareness, or growth in your business/life.  So doing nothing is really not an option either.

3.  Be happy with what you accomplished, learn from it and set a bigger goal:  Now this is where Pink Ink falls!  We are incredibly happy with how things turned out for the Youth on Fire event last weekend, BUT we still need to reflect or debrief.  We learned many, many things and we have to take those lessons and apply them to next year's event which for us will be bigger and better.  Pink Ink's charity of choice for 2014 is Single Women in Motherhood (S.W.I.M).  Keep an eye out for how you can be a part of it and support the cause.

Now, it would not be us if we did not bring this back to image and branding yourself.  Did you know that
people who set goals live a longer and happier life?  Did you know that when you take the eyes off of yourself and try to help someone else, you really end up helping yourself?  You are happier, you smile more and smiling more makes you more inviting to your customers/clients.  When your business is going well, you have more energy and get excited about your next steps.    When you are excited about what you do then you stand up straighter, you put more effort into your appearance and you attract what you give out - energetic, uplifting, and forward thinking women/clients.  So follow these steps in everything you do:

   Set a goal
Plan
   Execute
Reflect
Learn
Set a new goal

If you believe you can do it, then you can.  You are who you say you are.  Believe in yourself.
We believe in you and are here to help you in whatever goal you set for yourself.  So go out there and be fierce and be bold!!!!  Want some guidance, support or an ear to listen call us and allow us the pleasure of serving you! xxoxoo

Why Wednesdays?

Have you noticed that Pink Ink comes out with a new blog posting every Wednesday?  Want to know why?  Wednesday is personally our favorite day of the week.  Why?  Well, by Wednesday we've successfully made it through half of the week and then there is only half a week to go until the weekend!!!  AND by mid-week many of us need a little boost - a pick me up.  We, at Pink Ink always want you to feel good and be smiling after you read our blogs.  We strongly believe that when you feel good you are more confidant to go
out there and accomplish great things.  We are proud to say that we have a strong faith and firmly believe
that when the creator created you He only created you!  There is no one else in this world who is like you or who has your unique gifts and talents.  What we all need to do is show the world who we are and what we are made of!  The saddest thing we have ever heard is that the richest place in the world is the graveyard.  Why?  Because that is where too many dreams and inventions never invented rest.  They died with the people who were too fearful to take a risk on themselves and live their dreams or create their inventions.  Can you imagine?  Pink Ink - the company - is a dream created by three women who wanted
more for themselves and for women out in the world.  We know and can see the gifts in each woman we meet.  Our mission is to encourage you to look and feel your best so that you can accomplish great things.  You are who you say you are so say this "I'm unique.  I'm beautiful.  I'm smart and I love myself enough to believe that I can accomplish anything if I believe I can."  Now, go out there, dream, develop a plan and execute!  We can't wait to see what you can do with a little belief in yourself.
Please write us and tell us about your goals and we will agree with you on them.  We love y'all and just want to be that constant voice in your ears encouraging you to success.  From a line in the movie "The Help" this is what we want you to know - You are smart.  You are kind.  You are important.  Until next Wednesday - Dream Big!!  xoxo

Fashion Diva in 5 Easy Steps

Who dictates what style is anyways?  Are you one of those ladies who does not want to be defined by “a” look?  I mean, look at all the different styles that are out there!?  There is the “goth” look described as dark, mysterious, and exotic and on the opposite end of the spectrum there is the Classic look described as
timeless and beautiful yet simple.  Then there is everything in between - punk, glam, diva, haut couture, conservative, vintage and the list goes on and on and on.  So I suppose that the best question to ask yourself is "What is my style?"  Whatever it is, there are five key elements to pulling off a style that will leave others wanting to see more.  Here are Pink Ink's top five personal style moves that every woman can achieve no matter what style or styles she may be:

1.        Is your hair coiffed? – run a comb through your mane.  Trust me, it makes a difference.  Treat yourself and get a wash and blowout.  There's nothing like someone rubbing your scalp - heavenly!
2.       Is your makeup on point? - At least wear the basics – foundation, blush, mascara, gloss.  Putting in an effort always puts you one step ahead of your competition (as we discussed last week!)
3.    Do you smell fresh? – B.O. is a huge no no.  Enough said.
4.      Do you look clean? – Ensure your nails are clean. Iron your clothes - nothing cute about wrinkles.  Wash your face - crusty eyes, day old liner and mascara under the eyes etc... - you know how it looks on others - don't let that be you.  Ensure your clothes are clean and not ripped (unless that’s the style).
5.   Make sure your clothes fit. – too big =frumpy; too small =bursting (need I say more?)
Part of creating your brand is honing down on your image.  Follow the above five tips and no matter what look you are trying to create – it will be memorable – for the right reasons!

Is size 2 really for you?

Ok, so I know that this blog entry is not going to change the idea that smaller is better which has, unfortunately, been hammered in the heads of women and men for decades.  But honestly, if after reading this blog entry one person improves their thoughts of their self image, then we, at Pink Ink, are good with that.  The Pink Ink associates pride themselves on helping ladies find their inner beauty and bring it out through their makeup and fashion choices.  Our job gets a little harder when women insist on keeping clothes that just are not their size!
Look, whether you are a man or a woman, if your clothes are too tight you look like an over stuffed sausage skin.  Sorry, but it’s true!  Here are some statements to think about:
1.  When I sit down, I’m afraid I may split my skirt or pants
2.  When I walk in my pants, every imprint can be seen (yes, you know what I’m
      talking about)
3.  My arms get numb because the circulation is cut off from my short sleeves
4.  Every roll on my body (we all have them ladies – it’s ok) can be seen through my shirt.
5.   I have to become a contortionist or use hangers to do up my clothing THEN I cannot walk when my pants/skirt/dress is zipped up to the top

If you could relate and respond with a "yep, that's me" to one or more of the above statements, call us – we will gladly meet with you in person or via skype.  We’re here to help you!!  Having clothes in your closet that fit and flatter your body is the key – not the low number on the clothing.  Trust us, We've made fashion faux pas in the past because we did not have the heart to throw out our favorite top or skirt, but you know what?  You have one chance to make a first impression.  People make up their minds about you within 30 seconds of meeting you – don’t get mad at us, we did not make up the rules.  We are just the messengers and we care about you enough to want you to put your best foot forward all of the time!  So what do you do next?  First - embrace who you are because there is only one you and you are magnificent.  Second, call Pink Ink and allow us to help you show off the best you!!  Remember, if size 2 is not you that's ok!  We are all fabulous despite the number on the tag of our clothing!
