Appreciation

Rita & Jen - Pink Ink
Wow!  A small word with huge impact.  Wow!  The London community really came out and showed their support on November 16th for an unknown group of four women who had a vision, set a goal and executed.  Wow!  Thank you.  Now, there is a funny thing about goals.  Once you accomplish them, you be happy with what you accomplished, learn from it and set a bigger goal.  So, let's analyze this for a bit - indulge me - lol.  Because Pink Ink was just part of a big production we're going to use the Youth on Fire event as our reference.  This event was a variety show concert featuring a number of youth all coming together to raise money for the London Anti-bullying Coalition.  So here we go.
Essentially, after accomplishing a goal we have three choices - 1.  be happy with what you accomplished and relax, 2.  do nothing; 3. Be happy with what you accomplished, learn from it and set a bigger goal.
Kamini - Silent Poetry
1.  Be happy with what you accomplished and relax:  This is an ok option. We were able to generate community involvement.  We were able to provide a medium by which more awareness has come and will continue to come to the London Anti-bullying Coalition.  We were able to raise some funds for the LABC.  We had 200 people at our first event!!!!!!!   For the city of London these accomplishments are HUGE.  So, can we relax and just be happy?  We could and we could forever reflect on how in 2013 Pink Ink was part of an event that helped to change lives. Woohoo!  If you know us, then you know this is not the option we are choosing.

2.  Do nothing.  Really?  If we are truly in business, WE ALWAYS have to reflect on what we have done.
Yvette - Flying Unlimited
Whether it is a trade show, a networking event, a production, or even just a one on one with a client - we ALWAYS -  have to reflect.  It is of uttermost importance to ensure that your activities are generating or leading to generate profits, awareness, or growth in your business/life.  So doing nothing is really not an option either.

3.  Be happy with what you accomplished, learn from it and set a bigger goal:  Now this is where Pink Ink falls!  We are incredibly happy with how things turned out for the Youth on Fire event last weekend, BUT we still need to reflect or debrief.  We learned many, many things and we have to take those lessons and apply them to next year's event which for us will be bigger and better.  Pink Ink's charity of choice for 2014 is Single Women in Motherhood (S.W.I.M).  Keep an eye out for how you can be a part of it and support the cause.

Now, it would not be us if we did not bring this back to image and branding yourself.  Did you know that
people who set goals live a longer and happier life?  Did you know that when you take the eyes off of yourself and try to help someone else, you really end up helping yourself?  You are happier, you smile more and smiling more makes you more inviting to your customers/clients.  When your business is going well, you have more energy and get excited about your next steps.    When you are excited about what you do then you stand up straighter, you put more effort into your appearance and you attract what you give out - energetic, uplifting, and forward thinking women/clients.  So follow these steps in everything you do:

   Set a goal
Plan
   Execute
Reflect
Learn
Set a new goal

Pink Ink Divas

If you believe you can do it, then you can.  You are who you say you are.  Believe in yourself.
We believe in you and are here to help you in whatever goal you set for yourself.  So go out there and be fierce and be bold!!!!  Want some guidance, support or an ear to listen call us and allow us the pleasure of serving you! xxoxoo

Dreams & Bullying - Huh?

When someone asks you what you dream about for your future, I'm almost certain that you do not respond "I dream of being  bullied one day" and if you do then none of us really believe you.  So how is that you can ask us what one of our dreams is about and when we respond "bullying has something to do with it" you are left thinking - huh?  Well, let us explain.

Corina Morrison - LABC
Since opening our doors for business Pink Ink has experienced success.  To put into context, when we started our business it was so that we could make some ladies look pretty, make some brides feel amazing and get paid while we do it.  Yep, I said it and truly I feel no way about saying that.  When you are in business you want to get paid even if you are delivering a service that makes not only your client feel good but you feel good as well.  What we found was that not only did our clientele need something more, we had more to give.  We found that too many women felt negatively about themselves and did not believe in themselves or their ability to change their life for the better.  What we have been able to do is help women feel good about themselves by creating a work of art on the canvas of their mind, face and body.  You see, once a woman believes she looks good she feels good which boosts her confidence level and raises her achievement level.  IT'S TRUE!!!  Scientists and researchers have studied this - it's a proven fact.  AND women in business who
Saidat
take the time to look the part have increased sales of 35%.  Don't believe me - look it up!!  So, knowing this, Pink Ink decided that not only would we help women look and feel good, we decided that we would help women make the inner vision that they see of themselves a reality.  The vision of their WHOLE self from the top of their heads to the bottom of their feet.  We will help them develop their image and thus create their "brand".  Essentially, we bring what you dream on the inside about yourself to the outside.  How?  Book a consultation with us and you will find out - lol.
Holly Painter
Now, because we have been so fortunate and so incredibly blessed within a few months of becoming "Pink Ink" we decided right off the hop that we had to give back to the community.  Did you know that every year Pink Ink chooses a charity to work with as a means to give back?  This year we chose the London Anti-bullying Coalition.  Here is how the dreams and bullying thing connects.  So, when we chose this charity, we did not realize the incredible growth we would experience as business women in learning about putting on a fundraiser.  We did not realize the incredible partnerships we would make with other businesses who also give back and want to help others in our community.  Essentially, we did not realize that some of our dreams would come to fruition on the stage of a show about bullying.  You see, Jen - one of the Pink Ink ladies -  has always wanted to produce a show and perform with stars.  Well guess what, Jen, along with Kamini from Silent Poetry and Yvette from Flying Unlimited has produced a show with high calibre acts AND she will perform with them.  Jen loves to sing (bet you didn't know that) and she will sing with some of London and areas rising stars.  After November 16th, Jen will be able to cross another dream off of her bucket list.  Yeah Jen!!!

Will you support us?  We are asking you to take a couple of hours out of your Saturday night and join us at 6pm at the Wolf Performance Hall located in the Central Library.  It's a win-win-win situation really.  You will financially be supporting the London Anti-bullying Coalition by purchasing a ticket.  That money will be your way of standing up for an organization that stands up for our kids!  When you come out on Saturday night, you will be entertained from the moment you sit down to the time you leave the theater.  We guarantee this!  Do you know who will be there?  Marc Trinidad!  Brooklyn Roebuck!  Austin Pryce!  Saidat!  Holly Painter!  Sound in Motion Dance Performance Troupe!  Victoria Zubick!  Miss Teen Canada Celina Rivas-Vasquez!  The Faces of Pink Ink!  Need we
Sound in Motion DPT
say more?  By coming out on Saturday night, you will be supporting our youth performers by encouraging them with your cheers during and after their performances.  What better way to encourage our youth to do positive things?  By coming out on Saturday night, you will be helping other women (P.I. lady Jen in particular) cross off an item on her bucket list.  Talk about money well spent!  Contact us today for your tickets OR go to http://tickets.ticketwindow.ca/eventperformances.asp?evt=1586  - you can get your tickets there as well.
Our message of the week - dreams can come true even if it's about a subject like bullying.  When your intent is to help someone else, the blessing always comes back to you.  So remember to always dream big and give all that you have to making this world a better place.  Develop your plan, execute the plan then repeat.  Even if you fail, then you learn from your mistakes and implement the lesson in the next plan with the goal to succeed.  You are who you say you are so you might as well say "I'm fierce!   I'm strong!  I can do it all!!"  As our friend Saidat says "One person can make a difference, together we can change the world".  Be a world changer with us!  See you Saturday night!

Yours in Beauty,

Jen & Rita

Feel good article about Bullying. Really?

The goal of Pink Ink is to provide women (all people really) an opportunity to feel good every
Wednesday morning when they wake up and read our blog.  So how does an article about bullying achieve this?  Please read on to find out.

The Oxford Dictionary defines the term "bully" as the use of superior strength of influence to intimidate (someone), typically to force them to do something.  Often times when we think of bullying we think of that kid in school who was/is physically bigger than most of the other kids on the school yard or who, for some reason, had/has a crew of kids around them to carry out their every mean spirited demand.  We all knew/know that kid (the bully), who teased the other kids for being different or seemed to always try to hurt other people's feelings.  For some of us, we were/are that bully.  However, we do not often think about our friends, work associates or family members as bullies because they are supposed to care about us right? No matter who is doing the bullying the result is often the same, the bullied person often feels a little less good about themselves and I would hazard a guess that the bully is not truly feeling good about themselves either.

As women who work primarily with women, we see the after effects of bullying on the self esteem of the hundreds of women we encounter in our business.  Beautiful women on the inside scared to show who they are on the outside.  These women are so incredibly bright, quick witted and full of ideas and dreams.  We see women who smile outwardly but are crying inwardly.  One of the questions we often ask ourselves is why are there so many woman who feel small inside or undervalued when they obviously have so much to give?  More often than not, that woman has been hurt by someone - even bullied.  Do we have an answer for the growing epidemic of bullying?  No.  We do have a message for all of the bullies and the bullied though.

No matter what anyone has told you, done to you, does to you or how you may feel about yourself - YOU ARE VALUABLE.  There is no one else in this world like you.  You were created with specific gifts and talents to show the world and you cannot let ANYONE'S bad behavior
prevent you from shining your light and making a difference in this world.  Are we all Oprah's?  I would say yes.  Let me explain what I mean.  Oprah has been voted to be one of the most influential, philanthropic, individuals in the world.  She can say she read a book today and millions will go read that book.  She will make a comment about meat - positive or negative - and sales are affected.  Why?  Because she has touched millions of lives in some way that has made them feel good about themselves.  Did she start out different than you or I? Nope.  You have the same abilities she started with.  So when I ask you, are you like an Oprah Winfrey your answer should be yes.  Not
because you necessarily strive to be her but because although you may not have the influential power of Oprah to affect millions (heck, you just might if you follow your dreams) you do have the influential power to affect one person in your life.  Your influence on that one, can affect another, and then another, and then another etc...  You are an Oprah to someone and you just might not know it.  Even better, you are insert your name here  - we better recognize!!!!

Now here is the plug!!!  Pink Ink along with Silent Poetry and Flying Unlimited are hosting a concert  - Youth on Fire - Weird and Proud - on November 16th in London, Ontario, to help raise money for the London Anti-Bullying Coalition.  An organization that works to develop policies in our schools and help protect our children from being bullied.  The women involved in bringing this concert to this community have worked

tirelessly to ensure that you will be entertained and educated about the issue of bullying.  You can expect to see Marc Trinidad, Saidat, Brooklyn Roebuck, Austin Pryce, Sounds in Motion Dance Performance Troupe and Holly Painter with special appearances by the Faces of Pink Ink , Miss Teen Canada, https://www.facebook.com/.../Miss-Teen-Canada...Celina-Rivas-Vasquez/...‎Celina RivasVasquez and the story of a survivor - Sara Clarke.
You will be wowed by our feature performer, London's own hidden gem, Victoria Zubick!   Your support is needed.  Please contact Jen at Pink Ink, Kamini at Silent Poetry, Yvette at Flying Unlimited or tickets.ticketwindow.ca for tickets or if you want to help in a financial way contact Yvette from Flying Unlimited.
Victoria Zubick - London's Rising Star

Thank you for reading. We greatly appreciate your support.  However, what would make the Pink Ink ladies smile is if you ensure to  shine your light.  Remember, there is no other light quite like yours and it is valuable to all who see it.

Peace, love and beauty,

The Pink Ink Ladies.
